As someone who has stiff, hard, dry hair, I’ve always been struggling to find the right products for my hair. My hair often feels coarse, and even after using many moisturising products, I’m still not satisfied with the results.
My hair never seemed to fully absorb the moisture it needed, and most products with heavy ingredients would end up weighing down my hair.
I noticed that many of the products I used contain silicone. And it seemed to make my hair drier. Silicones form a layer around the hair shaft, preventing moisture from penetrating, which can lead to dryness.
I’ve heard that non-silicone products are better for dry hair because they add shine and smoothness to your hair.
After hearing the potential benefits of silicon-free products, I decide to give one a try.
The experience and results
I used shampoo along with the conditioner from the same brand.
After the first wash, I noticed that my roots weren’t completely dry; they rather moisturised and didn’t lay flat, giving me a voluminous appearance on top of my head.
My hair feels lighter. When I touch it, it feels slightly softer, smoother, and shiny.
After every wash, my hair wouldn’t cooperate, flyways, feel very dry and frizzy, but this time it’s more manageable and slightly tame my flyaways!
My scalp felt fresh even after several days between wash. I went for exactly a week (7 days) before my next wash, and I didn’t feel itchy or greasy at the roots.I am so surprised with the results; even though it doesn’t give me silky soft hair, it’s enough to keep my hair moisturised without weighing down my hair and hardening the shafts. I’ll definitely add silicone-free products to my haircare routine.
Tans xoxo
